Wire Dobies, furnished with two 5” long, 16 gauge wires for secure attachment, keep rebar and mesh from being displaced during concrete placement. They are for use in all concrete slab applications. Some sizes are considered to be a special order item, with availability dependent upon quantity and size required. Wire Dobies less than 2" in clearance height are furnished in bags and palletized for shipping.

Plain Dobie
Slab-On-Grade

Used primarily for spacing the reinforcement off of the grade or forming, Dobies are particularly suited for on-grade reinforcement work, where heavy concentrations of rebar occur. Sizes less than 2" are furnished bagged and palletized.

Combination Dobie
Slab-On-Grade

“Combo” Dobies feature multiple heights within a single unit and are characterized by the 1/2" deep groove cut in one or more of the faces of the dobie. When rebar or mesh is placed in the groove, the reinforcement is 1/2" less in clearance than when placed perpendiculary to the groove or on the opposite face of the dobie, on the side away from the groove.

Dowel Dobie
Slab-On-Grade

Dowel Dobies are unique in their ability to support two mats of reinforcement when used with a rebar which is bent 90 degrees and placed in the dowel hole. The dowel hole, made to accept a #4 rebar, is 2 1/2" in depth and acts as a stable base to support the upper mat off the grade. While Dowel Dobies have grooves and can be used like Combination Dobies, it is the dowel hole that gives it its name. Please specify "the brick with the hole" or “candlestick dobie” when ordering.
